A new bill has been introduced into the California Senate which will make it
more difficult for children of divorce to retain the loving bonds they share
with both parents.
Under SB 1482, which will be voted on by the California Senate Judiciary Committee next Tuesday (April 25), a parent seeking to block a move is specifically prohibited from citing most of the evidence that could provide a basis for restraining the move. Nonmoving parents are prevented from citing the move's impact on their children's relationships with them or the effects of the children losing their schools and friends. This directly abrogates current California case law which says that the children's relationship with their nonmoving parent must be considered when deciding a relocation case.

Feminism's
devolution from hoaxers to whores - "Men
haven't turned away from smart, successful women because they're smart and successful.
More likely they've turned away because the feminist movement that encouraged
women to be smart and successful also encouraged them to be hostile and demeaning
to men."Fathers deserve
more than a day - "the
diminution of Father in our culture may be the single stupidest turn in
human history yet. The proof of our folly is all around us as measured
in the pathologies afflicting our young, yet we persist in denial lest
truth inconvenience our next act of self-affirmation.
"To
be blunt, raising boys and girls without their fathers is simply another
form of child neglect...But
purposely creating ways to keep fathers from their children - either because
personal bitterness makes it preferable or because moving far away makes his
participation impossible - is not forgivable."Cathy Young
Maligning
Fathers: PBS
whitewashes anti-dad bias - "[Producers] Lasseur and Meier
profess to be shocked that anyone could see the film [Breaking the Silence]
as collectively maligning divorced fathers when it focuses only on abusive
fathers in contested custody cases. Yet the film clearly suggests that if
a divorcing father decides to fight for custody, chances are he's a batterer
who's using the custody suit as an abuse tactic—and that if he's accused
of abuse, he's most probably guilty. And that's not prejudicial?" Glenn Sacks
Are
American Husbands Slackers? "Feminists’ persistent
criticism of men has combined with women’s traditional expectations of
their husbands to place men in a double bind. A man may be a devoted caretaker
of his children or a talented cook, but if he is unable to provide for his family,
he is not respected. Yet when a man works long hours to fulfill the breadwinner
role which he is still expected to perform, he is blamed for not contributing
as much at home as his wife does." Supporting
the child by order of the court: Family law proposes to keep bonds strong. "This
legislation would require courts to award joint custody unless there
are allegations that it would be detrimental to the child. Should these
allegations be made, the parent requesting sole custody bears the burden
of demonstrating detriment. And when judges decide against joint custody,
they must state their reasons. This is a moderate, common sense way to
reduce the harm and loss children experience from divorce."
"...under the current
system noncustodial parents are often forced to wage expensive court
battles to protect their time and relationships with their children.
These parents end up supporting lawyers instead of kids."

UK's Fathers 4 Justice
disbands. "Fathers
4 Justice, the radical campaign group for men involved in child custody
battles, was disbanded last night after allegations that extremist
elements were plotting to kidnap Tony Blair's five-year-old son Leo. Matt
O'Connor, the founder, said that after endless feuding in the group
and dangerous activities by those on its fringes he had concluded that
mothers were simply more mature than fathers."
